Last Reflection

This Semester

Woaw in this semester we did a lot of creative and fun activities. First we start the semester with our respective groups, my group was The All Star Girls and I had a lot of fun working with these girls. We did a lot of oral presentations and reflections for some of the stories that we read in class. The other creative activity was changing my portfolio for a blog. It was a little scary because the portfolio was private and this well... everybody can read this. Making my own blog was really fun because I can put pictures, add color... in clonclusion this semester my english was really great interesting and fulfill of many new experience that I enjoyed !!!

All Star Girls Oral Presentation

On Thursday we did our las oral presentation about different types of marriages. We talked about gay, open, gothic, ghost and Barbie marriages. I choose the topic of gay marriage; my research was very interesting. This marriage is a normal marriage; the only difference is that there both from the same sex. I am in favor of this marriage because as I said in my essay marriage is a very special, beautiful and gratifying commitment; why restrict it to certain persons? This is a very interesting, controversial topic and I think that peopple should stop judging this marriage and give these people an opportunity.

Where they were flames there are still little ashes- In this story we see that this phrase is completly true. This story is about a woman who is in a storm with an old lover and starts flirting with him while her husban and son where away. I think that this is just not a story, that this colud happend in real life but its cool when neither of them are compromise but when they are I think that respect should be in their thoughts too.

Story of an Hour

Woaww !! Many things can happend in an hour !! This is a story about a series of events that happend in just an hour... what events!!! In this story we see a woman who suffers from the dead of her husband. When she moves on, her husban appears and she suffers from her heart. This is a very shocking story. If that would happend to me I would probably be in a mental hospital or something like that. I read this story when I was in my senior year and now in college and trust me If I had to read it again I would do it without thinking it twice because this is a story that fills all my expectations.

A Worn Path

A Worn Path is a very touching reading that tells us about the love of a grandmother, Phoenix Jackson to her grandson. Her grandson was throat sick and the story tells us Phoenix Jackson journey to ther city from her house to the get some medice for his grandson. We see how Phoenix take a path facing embarrassment and horrible situations. This is a story that really touch me beacuse im very sensible with elderly people and even more if there living in these conditions. Sometimes we forget how lucky and blessed we are. This story is an example of the sacrifices that people do when they love!

Christopher Columbus

Christopher Columbus

I found in my research that Christopher Columbus was born in Genoa. He is the son of a prosperous wool merchant and weaver. By the early age of 14 , takes to the sea. Columbus swim ashore after his ship is sunk in a battle with pirates off Portugal. He joins his brother Bartholomew, a cartographer, in Lisbon. As a master mariner, Christopher makes merchant voyages as far as Iceland and Guinea.

In my opinion, Christopher Columbus is a very smart, brave man that all the people should know about him and his voyages. It was very interesting doing this work because he is a very important person in our history.

Columbus in Chains

Columbus in Chain is Annie John chapter five. It is a very fun reading about a SMALL girl in the island of Antigua and how she let people close to her know her ideas. The author shows to us the relationship of the girl with her parents and that was very interesting to me. The part that is fascinating to me is that the story is about a small girl. Pretty smart to me beacause a small girl at that age probably would be able to think or act like she did. In the story the author also describe to us the usual routine of a girl in her school and in her house and while I was reading the story I was thinking in a family that ironically few years ago I met in a cruise from Antigua and we still are friends and every year that we go cruising we stop by to say hi. They have a little girl too and reading this remained me of her. Maybe thats why I find this story pretty exciting and interesting.
